28 What then is to be done in such a case as this? Why, truly all that can be done, providing still for the safety and preservation of the whole, and as much as may be, of every part. All that can be to heal, and cleanse, and edifie, but nothing to destroy. Let every Member of the Body, according to its station and office therein, contribute what possibly it can to the preservation of its Life, and restoring of its Health, but let no Member be cut off, so long as the Body may be preserved without such mutilation, What then is to be done in such a case as this?
