Augustine observed this difference in himselfe, that so long as he was a stranger from the wayes of holinesse, he thought the study of the Scriptures to be a dull businesse, infinitely preferring Tully before the Bible; but after his conversion he took no pleasure in that Author where he found not the Name of Iesus. Oh therefore that you would poure out your hearts in the study of these things, that the wonderfull way of Christ's governing in his Church might take up not the least part of your thoughts. |
