This Psalme (and three or foure other of these Songs of degrees) was unquestionably penned by King David, who therefore counted himself the man raised up on high, because he was the anointed of the Lord, and the sweet singer of Israel, esteeming it a greater mercie that the Spirit of God spake by him, then that the Nations were subdued under him: |
