In-Text Salt is an embleme of discretion, which leadeth to peace, for as Salt prevents putrefaction, so doth wisdome, contention. If Salt be thrown into the water, it kindly melteth; if into fire, it crackles till it vanish, so is wisdome pleased, when in the water among peaceable, but grieved when in the fire among contenticus spirits.
