Melanct. in his Annotat. on this Epistle, [ in Comparison of which, ( Luther says) that Jerom and Origens Commentaries are but Merae nugae & Ineptiae ] says, Deus solus Justificat transfundens in nos Spiritum suum, p. 17. We must either reckon him a Papist, who was the first Protestant, (this Book I have is Printed 1522.) or else say that Gift was the Sentence, or its declarative Sign. |
